Beckett on Film - Happy Days Part four

Written in English and Beckett as the happiest piece, Happy Days offers a woman buried up to her waist in a sand hill. Winnie's husband, Willie, appears only occasionally from his tunnel behind the hill. Winnie's opening words, "another heavenly body day," was the tone for a long monologue which lasts until they are no longer concerned with the contents of her enormous handbag. She follows the routine of the day praying, brushing teeth, memories of the past ...
